Kristina Corner is Cointelegraph’s editor in chief. They spoke with Miami Mayor Francis Suarez about topics such as the role of the mayor at the WEF, Bitcoin as a global currency, and what the mayor does to his BTC.
Suarez claims that his role at WEF is very different from the one he played at Bitcoin Miami. The mayor of Davos noted that he was an “evangelist” who teaches people about Bitcoin. He said that he wants people to see that this technology will have an impact on “the lives and many”.
Suarez also spoke out about the potential for Bitcoin to become a global currency. The mayor pointed out that Bitcoin offers many opportunities to democratically “disrupt socialist” regimes. Additionally, Bitcoin “creates trust,” which is what currency systems should be built on.
Corner was told by Suarez that he hodls Bitcoin and received some of his paychecks as Bitcoin. He stated that he believes that crypto technology is possible and that he hopes to one day give it to his kids.
